Civic Helpers Earns 501(c)(3) Tax-Exempt Status

The IRS has recognized Civic Helpers, Inc., a New York State nonprofit, as formally tax-exempt and eligible for tax-deductible contributions.

The Internal Revenue Service has recognized Civic Helpers, Inc. as a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization, allowing one of New York State’s and Westchester County’s newest nonprofits to fully launch and accept tax-deductible contributions.

Civic Helpers is dedicated to helping people overcome hurdles with government agencies, utilities, and health insurance companies. Based in White Plains, we seek to solve problems throughout New York State in ways that don't just help one person at a time but also improve things more broadly.

Even in our first year of operations, we didn’t wait for our 501(c)(3) status and tax exemptions; we hit the ground running. We have helped individuals and organizations (many of them fellow non-profits). You can see the results of some of that work here.

The application for 501(c)(3) status is an involved process, and took many months to be processed. The law firm of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP provided pro bono assistance, starting in 2024, with both Civic Helpers’ incorporation and application to the IRS.

Please make a donation, tax-deductible to the full extent allowable by law, to celebrate this milestone for Civic Helpers.
